Sunnah uxorem ducere praescriptum indicat, et quod sit unus de Sunnahs nuncii. Per questus duxit hominem can, with the help of Allaah, overcome many of the traps of evil, for marriage helps him to lower his gaze and guard his chastity, sicut propheta (pax et bona Allaah super eum) said in the hadeeth, “O young men, quicumque inter vos praestare potest, Dimittite eum contrahendum matrimonia, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding chastity…” Agreed upon.
Al-Haakim narrated in al-Mustadrak from Anas, in a marfoo’ report: “Whomever Allaah blesses with a righteous wife, He has helped him with half of his religion, so let him fear Allaah with regard to the other half.”
Al-Bayhaqi narrat in Shu'ab Al-Eeman ab Al-Raqaashi: 'Cum homo accipit matrimonio quod perficitur dimidium eius religio, so let him fear Allaah with regard to the other half.” Al-Albaani said of these two hadeeths in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb (1916): "(Sunt) Hasan Li Ghayrihi. "

salvete. You forgot to mention the fact that although it’s a sunnah, most of us would love to marry young, for brothers we cant afford the £50,000 needed for marriage. How is anyone supposed to save that kinda money? Most brothers come out of university at 21. Apart from getting a haram riba loan from the bank, there’s no way most brothers can afford the ridiculous extravagance of a wedding.
I wish things were simpler like the actual sunnah of Nikah. Sadly all people ever care about is showing off to others and justifying it by saying “it’s once in a lifetime” truly disgusts me. In the UK, you’ll hardly ever come across anyone doing a sunnah wedding. Even if the 2 people themselves want a sunnah wedding, family and relatives won’t allow it to happen.
