The Prophet SAW mentioned fasting on the day of Arafat and said: "ਇਹ ਪਿਛਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਪਾਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ." (ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ)
