Совет недели: Сдерживай свои обещания!

Сколько раз в жизни вы говорили: «Я обещаю, что сделаю то-то и то-то», а затем нарушали свое обещание? The reality is that the majority of Muslims break promises at some point – but this is not normal Islamic behaviour and nor should it be acceptable!

In the time of the Prophet SAW, Muslims were known for their promises. Their word was their honour and their honour was their life. This is why the Muslims of old were so successful:

[Successful are the believers]…who are faithful to their trusts and to their promises.’
(al-Mu’minun 23:8)

Perhaps one of the reasons why the Muslim world is in mass humiliation is because we are no longer keepers of our word, and the fear of Allah has left our hearts:

“Oh you who believe! Why do you say that which you do not do? Most hateful it is in the sight of Allah that you say that which you do not do”
 (Коран 61:2-3)

What’s worrying is that breaking promises is a sign of hypocrisy:

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, да благословит его Аллах и ниспошлет ему мир, сказал, “There are three signs of a hypocrite: whenever he speaks, he lies; всякий раз, когда он дает обещание, он ломает это; and whenever he is trusted, he betrays his trust.” [Согласовано]

So the moral is keep your word so you may be successful!
