Maintaining The Ties of Kinship

Observing the ties of kinship is one of the most important basics of our deen, and not honouring these ties not only removes you from Allah’s Mercy, but also deprives you of so many blessings.

‘A’isha reported Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) jan li di:

The tie of kinship is suspended to the Throne and says: He who unites me Allah would unite him and he who severed me Allah would sever him.

[Mizilman]

Nan yon lòt adit, the Prophet SAW said:

“Whoever loves that he be granted more wealth and that his lease of life be prolonged then he should keep good relations with his Kith and kin.” [Boukhari]

Scholars have unanimously agreed that the one who doesn’t maintain his ties of kinship, then based on this hadith, your lifespan is shortened and your provision is withheld from you!

Fòd fanmi yo trè komen - tout kote ou ale ou tande moun ki te tonbe soti ak fanmi yo pou yon rezon oswa yon lòt.. swa li pral reponn imedyatman, sa a se yon gwo peche, piske yon fanmi byen sere se yon pati nan twal la nan ummah la. It’s so important that in another hadith, Abu Hurairah RA said:

Mesaje Allah SAW te di: "Li pa legal pou yon Mizilman abandone li (Mizilman) frè plis pase twa jou; e nenpòt moun ki fè sa pou plis pase twa jou, epi apre sa mouri, pral sètènman antre nan lanfè a."

[Abu Dawud]

In yet another narration:

‘Abdur – Rahmaan bin ‘Awf RA narrated that the Messenger of Allah SAW said, “Allah, Ki pi wo, te di: 'Mwen se Ar-Rahman, e sa a se Ar – Rahim (matris la, oswa lyen yo nan fanmi). Mwen te extrait pou li yon non nan non mwen. Mwen pral fè lyen ak moun ki nouri li, epi wete moun ki sevè l.”

[Abu Dawood]

Isit la nou klèman ak klèman te avèti ke moun ki koupe lyen li an reyalite koupe tèt li anba mizèrikòd Allah.. With the last few days of Ramadan left, now is the perfect time to establish your ties of kinship with firmness and forgive one another.

May Allah SWT make us of those who keep our families close to us at all times ameen.
