How serious is arguing? Did you know that when you STOP arguing (even when you are right), you are GUARANTEED a house in jannah? What about abandoning telling lies or ensuring you have the best of manners?
What do you think is the reward for this?
By the authority of Abu Umamah Al-Bahili radhiyAllahu ‘anhu, the Messenger of Allah ‘sallahu ‘alayhi wa sallam said: “I guarantee a house in Jannah for one who gives up arguing, even if he is in the right; and I guarantee a home in the middle of Jannah for one who abandons lying even for the sake of fun; and I guarantee a house in the highest part of Jannah for one who has good manners.’‘ In Sunan Abu Dawud radiyAllahu ‘anhu.
Subhanallah, you might think that these are easy things to do, but in actual fact, they are very difficult to do. No one likes to lose an argument – especially if they are right!
As for lying, then even pious people may sometimes tell a lie for the sake of having a joke. Good manners is an entirely different category altogether, since the Prophet SAW had the best of manners and was sent to not only call people to the Oneness of Allah, but was also sent to perfect good manners.
May Allah SWT grant each of us the understanding and the ease to implement these ways into our daily lives ameen!
