The Sunnah indicates that it is prescribed to get married, and that it is one of the Sunnahs of the Messengers. By getting married a person can, with the help of Allaah, overcome many of the traps of evil, for marriage helps him to lower his gaze and guard his chastity, hei Poropiti (kia tau te rangimarie me nga manaakitanga o te Atua ki runga ki a ia) said in the hadeeth, “O young men, whoever among you can afford it, let him get married, for it is more effective in lowering the gaze and guarding chastity…” Agreed upon.
Al-Haakim narrated in al-Mustadrak from Anas, in a marfoo’ report: “Whomever Allaah blesses with a righteous wife, He has helped him with half of his religion, so let him fear Allaah with regard to the other half.”
Al-Bayhaqi i korero i Shu'ab Al-Eemaan no Al-Raqashi: "Ka marena te tangata kua oti ia ia te haurua o tana haahi, so let him fear Allaah with regard to the other half.” Al-Albaani said of these two hadeeths in Saheeh al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb (1916): ma wai e hora ki roto ki tona hapu me te hapori e tata ana ki a ia(Ko ratou) Hasan LI Gharosia. ”
And Allaah is the Source of strength.

Tena koe. You forgot to mention the fact that although it’s a sunnah, most of us would love to marry young, for brothers we cant afford the £50,000 needed for marriage. How is anyone supposed to save that kinda money? Most brothers come out of university at 21. Apart from getting a haram riba loan from the bank, there’s no way most brothers can afford the ridiculous extravagance of a wedding.
I wish things were simpler like the actual sunnah of Nikah. Sadly all people ever care about is showing off to others and justifying it by saying “it’s once in a lifetime” truly disgusts me. In the UK, you’ll hardly ever come across anyone doing a sunnah wedding. Even if the 2 people themselves want a sunnah wedding, family and relatives won’t allow it to happen.
