Onkọwe: Iyawo funfun
Friday (jumma) is no doubt the master of days, and it is a stressed sunnah to recite Surah Kahf every Friday. The virtues are many:
- Abu Darda’ reported that the Prophet SAW said: If anyone learns by heart the first ten verses of the Surat Al-Kahf, he will be protected from the Dajjal. (Sahih Musulumi)
- “Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, will have a light that will shine from him from one Friday to the next.” (Narrated by al-Haakim and al-Bayhaqi, classed as Saheeh by Sheikh Albani)
- It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar (Jade) sọ: “The Messenger of SAW said: ‘Whoever reads Soorat al-Kahf on the day of Jumu’ah, a light will shine for him from beneath his feet to the clouds of the sky, which will shine for him on the Day of Resurrection, and he will be forgiven (his sins) between the two Fridays.’” (al-Targheeb wa’l-Tarheeb, 1/298)
So don’t forget to recite Surah Kahf BEFORE the magrib salah, as this carries the full reward insha’Allah!
